A Cat Named Jazz
Jazz is my constant companion when I am home. She follows me from room to room, races with me as I go up or down the stairs, and sleeps at the foot of my bed. Several times each day, especially in the evening when I sit down to use the computer, she climbs into my lap and pats my cheek with her paw until I give her a little attention.
I like this portrait of her, with the natural light from a north window providing a gentle sidelight, and the black background letting her emerge from the darkness. She looks a bit mysterious. And she is!

What a beauty! I’m still grieving for ours whom we lost just before Christmas.
Our last cat, Eureka, died on Christmas Eve two years ago. That’s a hard time to lose a dear pet. Took me a year and a half to decide to get another, and I must say, Jazz has been quite delightful.
Ah….reminds me of our “Zack in the Black” from years gone by. Great portrait.
