Leaf after Storm

Leaf after Rain Storm

It’s been very wet in Wisconsin. We seem to be smack dab in the middle of a ‘system’ that is dumping rain and unstable weather on us. Over four inches of the stuff fell yesterday and tornadoes were spawned throughout the Midwest all weekend. I spent a few hours in Chicago on Saturday, and my husband and I dodged 4 different twisters on our 3 hour trip home. One tornado crossed an interstate highway southwest of Chicago, knocking over semis in theย  lanes going both directions, closing down both roads and generally causing havoc but no injuries I heard mention.

Definitely tornado feeders visiting in the Midwest. A good day to attend to business indoors.

The leaf jumps out at you. Interesting contrast & it does look wet.

Cool shot Bo, I know what you are talking about with the storms, here in Southern Indiana we had a storm late last week that dropped nearly 4 inches of rain in a half and hour…..!!!!

We had some big time flooding, but living along the Ohio River we tend to get a little used to it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was wondering how you were making out with all those storms. Some of them look pretty rough on the radar.

Beautiful shot. I guess that means there’s something good about all that rain. ๐Ÿ™‚

A nice contrast from the browns in the background.
The weather seems to be creating havoc everywhere. Here in the Northwest, we’re not nearly as hot as normal for June. We do manage to capture photos regardless of the weather, though, don’t we? It’s hard to put that camera down.

We had some nasty stuff here last night and there may be more on the way tonight, it does make for some nice wet foliage shots though:)

Caught up on your posts, and as usual they were all fabulous!

I had no idea you were where all the twisters are!I saw all of that on the national news. It has been dry, dry where I am, but this afternoon we finally had a good thunder storm with buckets of rain!!

    Thanks for sharing your world!

Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! rage! blow!
    You cataracts and hurricanoes, spout
Till you have drench’d our steeples, drown’d the cocks!
    You sulphurous and thought-executing fires,
    Vaunt-couriers to oak-cleaving thunderbolts,
Singe my white head! And thou, all-shaking thunder,
Smite flat the thick rotundity o’ the world!
Crack nature’s moulds, an germens spill at once,
    That make ingrateful man!

~King Lear, Act III, scene ii

But, it looks like that little leaf survived.
