The Soul of a Crocus

Soul of a Crocus

Photography amazes me. This photo is untouched except for a bit of cropping and the framing. How do cameras DO what they DO? How can a bunch of pixels capture the very essence of a crocus?  And why does a photograph like this make me wonder about the very existence of the entire universe…

  2. Sugar frosted saffron; I, too, am in awe at what my digital SLR gives.
I had no idea when we bought it just how much pleasure it would give. Fun.

  3. This photo is truly amazing. Is this the center of the crocus? I can’t see that part of the flower if I get up right next to it. Absolutely beautiful.

  9. Beautiful. I so agree with what you had written. Photography amazes me also, and I see what I haven’t seen before. I love what you had written: “…very essence of a crocus… “the very existence of the entire universe…”

  10. Amazing richness of color and intensity of the crocus. It’s what we need after this winter, for sure.

gandalf ~ my offspring - the scientist one - claims they are stigmas. I know nothing more than that. I guess I could have looked it up, but…
