H is for Hot Air Balloon

Hot Air Balloon

“The best way of travel, however, if you aren’t in any hurry at all, if you don’t care where you are going, if you don’t like to use your legs, if you don’t want to be annoyed at all by any choice of directions, is in a balloon. In a balloon, you can decide only when to start, and usually when to stop. The rest is left entirely to nature.”  William Pene du Bois, The Twenty-one Balloons

What an unusual sort of beauty! A blue November sky and a lovely ‘patchwork of colors’ balloon. There are at least a dozen hot air balloons in the area, and provise quite a spectacle when they all go airborne in June.

  2. I’ve always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon. I keep wishing and hoping. Perhaps one day I will.

  3. Excellent shot! I love the thought of traveling in a hot air balloon, but then I remember that I’m deathly afraid of heights. Though it would be easy to get to ride in a hot air balloon, most of the time, all you would have to do is help them with the chase crew.
